About our Speaker:
Emily Paterson is the Public Education and Communications Manager at the Maryland Poison Center, where she has worked for over five years. She received her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. She received her Bachelor of Science in Community Health from Salisbury University where she also achieved her Certified Health Education Specialist certification.
Emily is an active member of the professional association America’s Poison Centers, which oversees the nation's 55 Poison Centers. She is currently the Junior Co-Chair on the Educators Advisory Council of America’s Poison Centers. Emily is also involved in numerous state and local coalitions that aim for a healthier injury-free life.
She is deeply passionate about her work in Public Health and injury prevention and is equipped to support community poison prevention and safety preparedness. The EPN is thrilled to welcome Emily to our network!
