Join us for SESSION 1 of our two-part didactic workshop series titled "Mental Health & Resilience Training," featuring Project Hope, a global health and humanitarian relief organization, whose mission is to place power in the hands of healthcare workers to save lives across the globe.
These sessions are crafted for healthcare workers to provide effective strategies for recognizing stress in the workplace, managing personal well-being, enhancing service delivery, and boosting productivity while fostering a positive and resilient work environment.
The course content is engaging, and active participation, idea-sharing, and discussions with fellow participants are strongly encouraged. Following the workshop series, participants will receive valuable resources and a certificate of completion.
SESSION 1 Learning Objectives :
- Define stress, trauma and the ‘Stress Continuum’
- Describe emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and spiritual reactions to stress & crises
- Describe Common Effects of Stress on Frontline Healthcare Workers (Over Engagement, Burnout, Compassion Fatigue, Vicarious Trauma, Secondary Traumatic Stress)
- Recognize warning signs of more complex mental health issues (Trauma and Stress Related Disorders – PTSD, Substance Use Disorders, Prolonged Grief Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Suicidal Behavior)

Session Two is designed to build onto Session One. Attendees are encouraged to attend both sessions.
Both Sessions will not be recorded due to the sensitive nature of the content and the need to prioritize attendee privacy during the interactive event.

Meet our Speaker:
Dr. IJeoma Nwachuku holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Ethnic Studies, a Master’s Degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Public Health Practice, and both a Master’s and Doctorate Degree in Forensic Psychology with specialties in Organizational Behavior, as well as Administration and Management. Her broad experience as a professional who has delivered targeted services to a diversity of individuals allows her to effectively reach vulnerable and under-resourced populations.
As a university professor, Dr. Ijeoma Nwachuku develops and instructs courses for the various subject matters in which she holds expertise. She has launched large-scale Community Needs Assessments in order to implement effective action plans in collaboration with local and national stakeholders. As an administrator, she directed Outreach and Advocacy Services for a large, non-profit hospital in Los Angeles County, where she oversaw nine distinct health programs from Maternal Child Health to Senior Care, and everything in between. In this role, she represented the hospital at the region’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC), designed to coordinate disaster response efforts needed to mitigate morbidity and mortality during large-scale emergencies. She also launched a comprehensive Employee Wellness Program that expanded to include City and School District employees.
Dr. Ijeoma Nwachuku is excited to now be a part of the Project Hope team. She serves as one of the subject matter experts delivering Mental Health and Resilience Training sessions to healthcare workers across the United States.
