Maryland Access Point (MAP) is a vital statewide initiative by the Maryland Department of Aging, serving as a one-stop shop for essential services that support aging, independence, and long-term care.

Over lunch, gain valuable insights into how MAP serves as a trusted access point for aging and disability resources , ensuring no one has to navigate their aging journey alone!

ATTENDEES WLL :

Understand the Department of Aging's vision for Maryland, the No Wrong Door System, and the core services offered by MAP.

Topics covered will include: information and referrals, intake and assessments, community options waivers, dementia screening, caregiver support, and other vital initiatives such as the Maryland Long-Term Care Ombudsman program and Senior Call Check.

Gain a comprehensive understanding of how MAP offices across Maryland serve as valuable access points for assistance and support.


    MEET OUR SPEAKER:

    Renee Stainrod has been a dedicated community engagement and public relations professional with over a decade of experience supporting youth, families, and marginalized communities. In her new role at the Maryland Department of Aging as the No Wrong Door/Maryland Access Point Manager, she oversees and strengthens Maryland’s No Wrong Door system, ensuring it provides coordinated, person-centered services for older adults, people with disabilities, caregivers, veterans, and families.

    Renee’s career began as an AmeriCorps member, and she has since held leadership roles at organizations such as St. Ambrose Housing, Baltimore City Schools, Community Law Center, and NAMI Metropolitan Baltimore. Most recently, she served as the Community and Public Relations Manager for Baltimore City Schools, where she facilitated stakeholder engagement in discussions about new building designs, construction projects, and transition planning.

    Renee holds an MS in Sociology from Morgan State University and a BA in Human Development from Connecticut College. Originally from Montego Bay, Jamaica, she grew up in Hartford, Connecticut, and now calls Baltimore home.
